Every dental practice in England is on a public register, by law

Primary care is unusually well documented. The difficulty is never finding the practices. It is finding the person who decides anything.

The register names people, if you ask the right endpoint

The directory file has no named individual on it at all. The names live in the detail records: the registered manager attached to a location's regulated activities, and the partners attached to a provider. Provider contacts are exposed only for partnerships, which is a minority of providers, so limited company ownership has to be resolved through Companies House instead.

Joining to Companies House without getting it wrong

Match on the legal entity name
The provider name on the register is the legal entity name, so an exact normalised match works.
Never match on postcode
The registered office is frequently the accountant's address, not the practice.
Expect a high hit rate
Exact name matching resolves the large majority of limited company providers.
Accounts are scanned images
Filed accounts often carry no text layer, so they cannot be parsed for names.
